Description:
'''Financial Counseling''' ''https://www.finabilityus.org/'' FinAbility is a survivor-led nonprofit that financially empowers survivors of domestic abuse. Using their backgrounds in tech and finance, they build digital tools that make financial education and resources accessible to survivors through a trauma-informed lens. FinAbility provides free 1:1 financial counseling sessions for survivors of domestic abuse and advocates who support them. Their financial counselors are trauma- informed and have completed FinAbility’s certification process. Sessions are held virtually, allowing individuals to participate from anywhere. All that is needed is access to a phone or the internet. In partnership with Financial Beginnings, FinAbility also offers free, online personal finance classes. Participants learn about setting financial goals and budgeting, increasing their income potential and navigating taxes, how to build/maintain good credit and different loan types, and how to protect their finances and insurance options.
