The Prison Scholar Fund is committed to providing educational opportunities, professional development, transitional support, and advocacy for those impacted by incarceration. The Prison Scholar Fund believes that incarcerated individuals deserve a second chance at a better life. That’s why they help incarcerated individuals get access to the education they need to transform their lives.

Distance Education The Prison Scholar Fund’s core program provides access to postsecondary distance education. These courses are generally paper-based, which students can complete independently without any type of institutional support. Students apply for funding by submitting an application for scholarship support. The Prison Scholar Fund only accepts requests for applications that are received directly from potential student themselves. Incarcerated student interested in receiving an application can send a request to their mailing address with a Self-Addressed Stamped Envelope (SASE):
